This review is from: Eric: Discworld: The Unseen University Collection: A Discworld Novel (Discworld Novels) (Paperback)
Pretty good but not his best. As I find is often the case with Pratchett, you'll like if more if you get the references. I did enjoy
the character of Lavaeolus (aka Odysseus) and there were a few gags about him getting home, eventually. Astfgl and Eric were caricatures
and I wish Pratchett had expanded them in this novel. It is a single, brief escapade that kept me entertained for an afternoon without
being too straining or surprising. I was pleased to see Rincewind back (in my mind he will always be mid-thirties, ginger and sound like
Eric Idle. Sorry David Jason.) but I would have preferred something a bit more spectacular for his return.
Overall a short and enjoyable but untaxing read.
