5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job very nicely for powering a Raspberry Pi, 16 Oct. 2013

This review is from: RAVPowerŽ Element Portable External Battery Charger / Power Bank (10400mAh, iSmart, Dual USB) - Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I'm using this battery pack to power a Raspberry Pi for time lapse photo projects. While still early days I'm very impressed with the endurance it gives the system. While I've not tested it until it runs out, I've had it running for upwards of 5 hours at a time and it still indicates at 3/4 full charge. It can take a long time to charge, but I've experimented with different chargers that pump out a bit more power and this makes a big difference to the time it takes - I'm currently using an iPad charger. The short lead supplied is ideal for my purposes - if I need a longer lead, my house is literally full of them.

While the job I purchased this for is fairly niche, I believe it represents great value and it has opened up a whole new area of photo projects to me - happy to recommend.

Hi C.Hanna
I too intend to use this for my raspberry pi, but with one small difference. I am looking for a power supply that will take over in the event of a power cut. Similar to the function of a battery pack on a laptop that runs from the mains but will continue to power the device when disconnected. Is this product up to the task?
