40 Minutes of Awesome,
This review is from: Route One Or Die (Audio CD)
Three Trapped Tigers are some kind of animal, a three piece instrumental band that fuses electronics with guitars and drums may not necessarily be completely new to you, but when the result is this intense and creative you know you've got something special. They've been doing their thing for a couple of years now, but after a few EPs (Which are definitely worth checking out as well) this is a first full length album and it certainly builds on their early releases. For one I don't think there are any weak tracks here at all and in general there is a greater polish across composition and production.
The first two tracks "Cramm" and "Noise Trade" are classic showcases of their usual sound, with changes in pacing and aggression. Following this is "Creepies" providing an eerie link to the magnificient "Ulnastricter" starting off innocently, building up slowly to unleash a barrage towards then end. "Zil" is dreamy, relaxed and piano only which gives way to "Drebin" perhaps the most chaotic and brash offering here. "Magne" is a chilled out affair before the closer "Reset" is another classic. In truth they flow together so well anyway you may find yourself appreciating one big piece.
Creating compelling instrumental music can't be easy, but these guys seem to manage it consistently with their innovative take on it.
Must buy 10/10.
