3.0 out of 5 stars iPhone; yes. iPad; no., 17 Dec. 2013

This review is from: GreatShield Apple MFI Licensed Sync & Charge 8 Pin USB 2.0 Lightning Cable for Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 5/5S/5C, iPad mini 2 II with Retina Display 2013 / iPad Mini, iPad Air 2013, iPad 4th Gen, iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPod Nano 7th Gen (3 Feet / 0.9m) - 1 Year Warranty (Black) (Accessory)
Product looks better than the official apple product and is less conspicuous if, like me, you leave these cables plugged in to your car for charging.
As it is black it does not stand out like the white cable.

For charging the iPhone it is fantastic, whether via the mains or when plugged into the PC.

Unfortunately it does not charge the iPad via the PC; only via the mains, so only 3 stars for me.

Hi. If you want to charge via the PC download Asus AI Charger, I think with a PC it's to do with the power output (something ike that!). Anyway, with Asus AI it will charge fine. Hope this helps.

The standard genuine Apple cable also does not charge from the PC, but only from the mains. It's the way iPads are built and nothing to do with the cable.

You can not charge an iPad from your PC it can only supply 0.5 amps not the 2.1 amps required.

I know that it doesn't charge, but when you read the description it does not make this clear.
I also know that the amps required are not available, which is why it doesn't charge from the PC.

Both the title and description of the product actually suggest that it does charge, hence the 3 stars.
