This review is from: The RHS Encyclopedia of Gardening ~ The Definitive Practical Guide to Gardening Techniques, Planning & Maintenance, & to Growing Flowering Plants, Fruits, & Vegetables (Royal Horticultural Society) (Hardcover)
This book starts with a section on garden design and then includes an exhaustive coverage from routine care, tree fruits, propagation, water gardens, sowing; just about every aspect is covered. it also has a very useful section on pest identification and plant problems. There are thousands of clear and detailed photographs and illustrations, which guide you informatively through each section, with text that is logical and consise owing to the miriad of experts that have writen it. I have had many hours of enjoyment learning new ideas and building up confidence and when embarking on a new task I invariably refer to it. My fingers are definately greener! and I would recommend this book as a MUST for anyone who enjoys gardening regardless of their experience. It is a large and fairly heavy book more suited to reference than field work, and seems to be aimed at a temperate climate. Enjoy............
