Doesn't work very well with DisplayPort,
This review is from: Apple MacBook Pro 15" Docking Station Mid 2009+ (Non-Retina) By Henge Docks (Accessory)
The design of the dock iteself is ok. White durable plastic, with a nice fit for the MBP case.
Installing the ports take a while, and requires some fiddeling, but anybody with IKEA experience should be able to pull it off.
However, I can't get it to work with the cables I need. Using ethernet, power and 2xUSB works ok, and I am able to plug in the MBP quite easily. It's quite a different story when I try to also install my DisplayPort cable. It is virtually impossible to get it plugged in. I have tried to plug in the cable first, and then slide the MBP into the dock, but then I have difficulties fitting the plug back into the hole, and trying to insert the MBP with all cables setup in their sockets is impossible. The DisplayPort plug just doesn't fit with the other cables, and since the plastic is covering the plugs, I have no access to try and jiggle the plug into the socket.
Now I need to spend 5 min every day unplugging the DisplayPort, fitting that first, and then trying to dock the MBP into the other plugs. I can get it to work after 5-10 min of trying.
The advice from Henge Docks is to install as few ports as possible, but guess what. If I only needed 2 cables, I would not have bought a dock!
Another small annoyance is, that when you undock the MBP, the dock is not heavy enough, so I have to use both hands to also hold it down while I pull the MBP away. This is difficult since a MBP 15" is quite heavy. Forget using this dock at all for 17" MBP's!
Probably an ok product for people with 13" MBP's, and who doesn't really use all the ports, but then again: why buy a dock?
