This review is from: The OC - The Complete Season 2 [DVD] (DVD)
It's good to see a fast release on such a great show. Shame we're still waiting on some Region 2 releases for other amazing programmes, such as Party of Five!! Anyway, second season OC develops on what the first set the tone for: the tans, the clothes and the dramas. The opening episode sees Seth hell-bent on never returning to Orange County, mad at his parents for letting Ryan leave and mad at Ryan for leaving. Ryan's back in his bad-boy home town of Chino, trying to support pregnant girlfriend Teresa, Marissa's spiralling out of control and throwing sun loungers into pools and Summer...well, she's just being Summer. Can Sandy and his eyebrows save the day?!
There's more depth to this season and more characters to provide richer storylines: the introduction of Lindsay proves dramatic, Alex shakes up a few things, Ryan's brother Trey turns up in Newport and a certain guy gets Seth rather jealous. But our old favourites have still got the juicier bits: our famous four embark on yet more will-they won't-they romances, Marissa wrestles with her inner demons and goes experimental, Sandy and Kirsten are given the option to play away from home, fracturing the image of the perfect marriage and just what shady business has former-Jim-Robinson Caleb got himself into?
Of course, there's still that comedy that makes the OC stand apart from other teen shows, Seth and Ryan's conversations, namely, but Julie Cooper steals the show in one episode with a bad 80's 'do and her version of One Night in Paris Hilton...
Oh, and the Killers make a musical guest appearance. What more could you want?
Californiaaaaa...here we coooooome!!!
