This review is from: Paganism: An Introduction to Earth-centered Religions (Paperback)
I must have read at least 10 books on paganism (there arent many!) and have found them all to be so waffly, vague and lacking in REAL information someone can actually use. This however is pretty good really there is a few meditation type excercises you can do (or not do!), but there are very interesting deep subject matters in easy to find sections such as "what pagans do and when they do it" and "principles of paganism". There is more than enough for a begginer to find out about the basics, the ethics, the festivals ect but there is also some more "flowery" subjects for those pagans who may wish to be a bit more "out there" as opposed to me who likes to quietly practice the religion. Its a book that you can really pick through and take from it what you will.
A big big big plus is the cover and the simple title. So many books (and people) do paganism an injustice by filling the covers (or adorning themselves) with the usual stereotypical cheap rubbish and making paganism seem like a joke or something you do to get attention or be trendy or interesting. However this cover and its explanation as an earth centered religion sums it all up in a down to earth way.im not embarrased to have it on my shelf and the title sums it up to any visitors without me having to!

Hi, being curious about this sort of thing but not knowing much about it may I ask the question, what is the point of being a pagan and practising the rituals, what is the benefit ? What does it achieve ?
