Only slightly better than getting a handful of beans and having a toddler on a tricycle go over them a few times back and forwards. Or use a teatowel and bash the hell out of your beans with a cricket bat - you'd probably get better results.
I'm on my second one of these - the first decided to stop working. You have to shake the beans in the hopper constantly - the cup settings don't seem to resemble anything remotely cup related (on planet Earth at least) - you can tell it's beating the beans up as the grind is staticly charged and tends to stick to the inside of the grind holder. You may need to fiddle with the inside stirrer bit, then try and figure out if you've tightened or loosened the mechanism - it really is a poor product, and it's not that cheap. My mate has an own brand electric grinder from John Lewis and it's infinitely better than this
I've gone back to my Porlex hand grinder - it's a a pain, but it's so much better than using this
