Item Great - Delivery Not So,
This review is from: Austerity Britain, 1945-1951 (Tales of a New Jerusalem) (Paperback)No problem with the item, however, I use Amazon because I can usually get the product quicker than I could if I visited the local retail outlet. Previously this has been the case as Royal Mail have a well established infrastructure allowing for the product to be collected from a nearby office in the case of nobody being at home to receive it.
Now that Amazon have chosen to use a (presumably) cheaper courier, this is not the case. There was no attempt to leave the package with nieghbours, just a card informing me that I would have to phone for a re-delivery date.
As it was, the next convenient date for me was a week away, and a rare day off was used to wait in for the delivery.
This method of delivery is totally unacceptable for a business of your nature, and it should be considered when giving contracts to couriers without even a local infrastructure, as they obviously can not cope with the needs of the customer.
I will think twice in futre, before ordering online unless I am sure of the delvery system
