Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
If you're looking for a Delia Smith-syle book, you may find this title a little frustrating. It is more like a traveller's scrapbook (albeit a very lavish, clothbound one), with an ecclectic and eccentric collection of recipes from around the world.
The recipes are grouped together by country, but this is not an A to Z of world cuisine, as the selection is limited and in this rather random order:
New York, USA
San Francisco, USA
Rawsonville, South Africa
Hong Kong, China
If you're adventurous person who's bored with conventional recipe books, or someone who is interest in world cuisine, this is a highly enjoyable cook's tour. The engaging text is complemented with some stunning photography and instead of a dustjacket, the book has a beautiful cloth cover with a gold inlay.
I'd happily give this book as a present, but if I was looking for a practical recipe book, this wouldn't be at the top of my list.
