Great but the structure is maddening!,

This review is from: Dangerous Women: The Guide to Modern Life (Hardcover)
Beautifully designed with wonderful, diverse advice for people of all ages (no, not just women) with opinions on benders, affairs, insomnia, mummy bores, etc. I love how this book is so silkily and snappily written, kind of like having a no-nonsense best friend with you at your side. Really soothing and another selling point was the mix of poetry and philosphy which made it all that bit more enchanting to read. I found the content so intoxicating. Blissful reading in the bath with some wine and chocolate.
But the A-Z structure is simply infuriating. I didn't find it especially helpful whilst reading the book (at odds with the actual content) in that it was a distraction and it's even more annoying when I wanted to re-read their advice on, say, money. It means remembering what they said about that throughout and then faffing around in the book looking for the advice. A guide needs chapters, no?
An introduction explaining the ethos behind the book would have been nice. The three paragraph blurb on the inside jacket cover feels too vague.
So, yes, I would recommend it. If it was reissued with a more traditional structure I would even buy it again - the guide is that good, but such a shame it's irksome to navigate.

I'm flabbergasted as to why anyone would genuinely find my review unhelpful!?
