Dogs of War? Hounds of Hell....,
This review is from: Dogs of War (Audio CD)
After settling themselves back in with two fine albums SOLID BALL OF ROCK (1991) & FOREVER FREE (1992),Saxon chose this album to up the ante, this is easily as good as anything they released in the glory days between 1980 and 1983.
Opening with the thundering title track, followed by a smouldering 'Burning Wheels' your immeditely struck by how fresh the band sounds, totally focussed and a band back on form, how ironic that Graham Oliver would leave after its recording,a shame,a real guitar hero lost.
other moments to remember include 'Big Twin Rolling..',Walkin Through Tokyo' and another of those 'Lost' tracks 'Great White Buffalo',another career highlight that should feature in the live set more than it does..
Recently reissued ,remastered with additional 'live' tracks, this original disc sounded excellent,i'm informed that the remaster sounds no better, you pay yer money you takes your choice, either way what ever edition you choose, its a belter.
