This review is from: Defiant Peaks (The Hadrumal Crisis) (Paperback)
In this final volume of the Hadrumal Crisis trilogy Juliet E. McKenna does a masterly job of weaving together the threads of the stories not only of the previous two books in the trilogy, but of the previous 14 volumes of her Einarinn novels, bringing them to a immensely satisfying conclusion. She answers many of the questions readers have been longing to ask, but not without stimilating the development of a good few more - enough to make readers hope for yet more answers to come. Those who have not read the earlier books would benefit from starting with Dangerous Waters (and will probably end up wanting to go on to read the earlier books in the series) as they will then get the benefit of enjoyin the care and craftsmanship with which earlier events are interwoven, but there is enough action and tension in the book to make it worth reading as a stand-alone.
