This review is from: Living Legends: Ice Rose (PC CD ROM) (CD-ROM)
This game is consistently good throughout and keeps up a pace. Opting to play on the middle difficulty setting, Ice Rose proved to be a reasonable challenge. Collecting objects along the way to use later on there was some looking around as only the hog scenes were highlighted. There's a good plot, things to do and build; a variety of mini puzzle games to solve that are doable but not too easy and quite a few scenes to go through as you defrost the village taken over by the Ice Queen. The hog scenes are detailed and have objects interacting with other things or combining elements to make an item which I quite like.
The bonus section also adds another 2 hours to the game which sets the scene for a sequel to follow which I think is called Frozen Beauty. The bonus also gives you a revisit to all the hog scenes and minigames so you can do these again if you wish. Strategy guide is also there but not really needed and I only used hint a couple of times. No hint penalties, no scoring or running out of time, so you can just enjoy the game.
The quality of the drawing is good, detailed, realistic and has perspective. Very similar to Mystery Legends: Beauty and the Beast Collector's Edition (PC DVD) in style and quality
This game is by BigFish however it loaded as a separate application rather than through the BigFish game manager. It is also a bit sticky as you move from scene to scene however this is not a problem with scenes or minigames.
