I read and loved Julia Crouch's first novel - CUCKOO - which ws excellent, but this is in a different
league. One of the best thrillers I have read. Poor old Peg or Meggy as she is sometimes called is
brought up by her doting grandmother Dolly and her obese Auntie Jean. Being a meek little girl she
tries not to ask too many questions but knows her dad went to jail for the mercy killing of her mother.
As she grows up events from her childhood come back to haunt her but she can only remember little
fragments, together with her partner Loz they try to piece together what has gone on over Peg's childhood
years and why is her father living in Spain. Bit by bit they piece togther the events of Peg's life
but as things become clearer everthing suddenly turns very very sinister.
I could never have guessed the outcome and I was riveted from the first page - absolutely brilliant
worthy of ten stars I absolutely cannot wait for her next book.
