Is this a mafia-produced rip-off? The irony!,
This review is from: Fuhgeddaboudit! Music You Heard On The Sopranos (Audio CD)
In an ironic twist, it seems that some cowboy-mafioso rip off merchant has put this compilation together to wet his beak in the Sopranos fountain of money. A taste of the action, so to speak. Essentially it goes like this: some bright spark in Portugal (that's where the CD was made) noticed the usual tracks they peddle for CDs made specifically for Old people who are waiting to die in nursing homes needed refreshing. "Hey Miguel, I watched that Godfather TV show last night, and I noticed that some of the tracks on it were on that old "Bed wetting in the twilight years" CD we made in 1975....sales are flagging...lets repackage the songs and put them on a new CD." "Hey great idea, Paolo" (sorry don't know many Portugese names). Don't buy this CD. While it does have a few modern tracks, many of the songs are covers - eg Surfin USA is a cover - and most are crooners (a few sinatra and D Martin) your grandad listened to on vinyl when he wasn't fishing or making bad furniture to get away from pesky grandchildren like you or your grandma. The offical CD's like pepper and eggs are beauts. Go for them. Don't let these cowboys "Drag...you...back...in!"
