This review is from: Hound Dog Days: One Dog and his Man: a Story of North Country Life and Canine Contentment (Paperback)
This is a book for real dog lovers with ordinary houses and ordinary dogs. Harry's experience matches our own except he writes it so much better. So for example, his partner worries that their daughter's first sentence will be " Get out of the way, you stupid dog". Those of us with dogs will empathize immediately. He charts too how dog owning has changed, from the way we look after our dogs now as compared with the 60's and the names we give them. I've read all Harry's books and his column in the Guardian is a must, but this book is his best and funniest.
