A Mixture of Diamonds & Coal by Incubus,
This review is from: Light Grenades (Audio CD)
Im a big fan of Incubus & have listened to there stuff for a few years now,i have "A Crow Left Of The Murder" & "Make Yourself" & loved every song as soon as the music hit my ears. I m not sure if i just need to hear these songs a few more times but they havn't all had that same effect. In my view half of the songs are wicked and the other half seem rushed, i don't feel
Brandon Boyd's normally stunning lyrics are quite up to scratch however its not all bad! Incubus have still combined some great hard-hitting tracks such as "Rogues" & "A Kiss To Send Us Off" along with their more melodic efforts such as "Dig" & "Love Hurts". If you previously loved songs such as "Wish You Were Here" & "Echo" like i do you wikll love there efforts on slower songs on this album. I feel track1 which is Quicksand might be a new style of music are exploring as it doesn't remind me of anything previous songs by the band and quite honestly its no good, maybe as a first track it gave me a negative feeling. On the songs my only other critisicm would be "Earth to Bella Part 1&2" which just seem a bit off the mark. Overall though im not dissapointed there are still some great tracks on this album so get buying!
