An excellent sequel!!!,
This review is from: Hunter's Planet (Aliens Vs. Predator S.) (Paperback)
I dived into this book (not literally) as soon as finished the first one and although it was not written by the same author, it still has the same style and class that made me love the first one.
Machiko Noguchi returns and she is as cool as ever.
I have never read a book by David Bischoff before and I have to say he is very similar to S.D Perry in the way he goes about telling the story, for example, frequently changing between the narratives of many people in the story. Therefore while reading this book, it wasn't really a struggle to get used to the writer's style.
The storyline, yet again is excellent. I really like the way that the story starts off all peaceful and happy and then turns upside down into a war zone. It pretty much carries on after the last book. It is very interesting to read about Noguchi's time with the Predators.
This book is let down a bit by the lack of detail in some parts. Throughout the story David Bischoff mentions that Noguchi betrayed the Predators, but it does not really explain why. (However, while writing this I'm in the middle of the third book and all is revealed there)
I was glad that the down to earth feeling of Machiko Noguchi is still present and lots of her humour and charm are also there.
Most of the book was perfect and kept me hooked all the time, but now and again there is the odd bit that drags on a bit, however this is a good book, but it is not as good as the original.
