1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, 3 Jan. 2008
This review is from: My Booky Wook (Hardcover)
I thought that this was the worst book, in the most loosest of terms, I have ever read. I didn't like him before but as it was a gift, I thought I'd give him a chance. Everyone deserves a second chance! A very disappointing read. It glamorizes drug use, crime and seen before outrageous behaviour. When he took his dealer and dealers 8yr old son to MTV and did a line of coke, it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. It's hard to like a person who does that. A cringe worthy life he's led. Charity work from Brand might redeem him. He must be better at stand up and must keep to it. I did not laugh at all whilst reading it. The anecdotes I felt were funny to him but they really didn't deliver. A very disappointing read. The title says it all. Each to their own.

Err... how about actually saying something interesting about why you didn't like it? Reviews pages are not there for people to have tantrums. I can respect negative reviews if the reviewer explains their reasoning.

Read Me says:
I'm sorry to see that you think my review/examination of Brand's book a tantrum-every review written in terms of 'book reviews' are only opinion by that person. Sometimes people have strong opinion. That's the way it is I'm afraid, otherwise every 'review' with a strong opinion would have you think a tantrum was had. I've adjusted it in answer to your comment.
PS. I would say your reviews are far too long to read, they should be short and to the point, in my opinion! lol regards fellow reviewer

It's interesting you think Brand glamourises drugs; most reviewers think he does the opposite. I have not read the book yet but I wonder what my verdict will be!

glamorizes drug use?? this book is one of the best things I've ever read to discourage ever touching any form of drug! it very nearly destroyed him. and yes some of the things he did while on them is horrible and scary.
And he does do charity work. a fair bit of it actually. one of the things he does is to try and help other drug addicts give them a second chance like he got.
