"Making the Unfamiliar Familiar",
This review is from: Computing for the Older and Wiser: Get Up and Running on Your Home PC (Older & Wiser) (Paperback)
I recently purchased a copy of " Computing for the Older and Wiser" and was pleasantly suprised to discover that it answered in very simple layman's terms what computing for the average person is all about.
A very impressive book, it takes the reader through the whole gambit of understanding the hardware and software issues associated with computing. It is logically laid out, very simple to follow and well illustrated.
The book itself has "lay flat" properties i.e.it has a spiral wire spine which allows it to lie fully flat on the desk thus eliminating page "curl". (Can be very frustrating trying to hand hold down the page whilst operating the computer).
Although primarily directed at "Silver Surfers" the book can be appreciated by both young and old, suiting all generations wishing to "demystify" the jargon surrounding computers and their operation.
In summary, the book unlike other computer books is neither foggy, misty, murky, blurred, technical, vague, unclear - it is precise, to the point and very importantly - REFRESHINGLY SIMPLE!
