Battery Grip for the Nikon D7100,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: XCSOURCE® Battery Grip Pack for DSLR Camera Nikon D7100 LF223 (Electronics)
For starters, The grip arrived very promptly considering I live in N.Ireland. The box itself arrived undamaged and the contents were all surrounded with bubble wrap inside the battery grip box itself. Upon connecting the grip to the base of the camera, it has a 2 dial locking system, " which is great, whereas some grips have only 1 ". The aperture dial and shutter dial on the grip are slightly stiffer than on the camera but they will probably loosen up over time. The AE-L / AF-L on the grip has to be set in the camera settings if you're using "BACK BUTTON FOCUSING", (F9 in the controls menu). Now the grip "even without the extra Nikon EN-EL15 battery inserted into it", adds more weight to the camera, more than I expected. Another point! if you're using a heavyish lens with the grip on, say a "Sigma 10-20mm", it will tilt over onto the end on the lens as it didn't before, "So be careful how you set your camera down". It will take a bit of getting used to with your fingers as there is a lot more camera body to get used to. All in all, this is a great grip for the price. Well worth the money.....
P.S I have now fully charged the extra battery and it goes to the full 100% charge and upon examination, appears to be the genuine battery with correct holograms and all made by sony, heres the link for it if interested.....http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0045KGZOG/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_dp_1
Hope this helps in deciding both grip and battery.
