Could have been so much better,
This review is from: A Different Hat (Audio CD)
Paul Carrack has always been vastly underrated in my opinion. Aside from his early days with Squeeze and later with Mike & The Mechanics, he has also turned out some great solo albums that really play to the strengths of his soulful voice.
Compare some of the tracks on '21 Good Reasons' or 'Blue Views' with these tracks and I have to agree that this is bit of a disappointment. I am not so negative as to award it one star as the musicianship is still excellent. It's just that Paul has delivered an album which is 'so so'. No real highlights...background music for late night listening.
For that reason, I think it's a huge missed opportunity.

To be honest, this review sums up exactly how I feel about this album. Having seen Paul many times live and owning pretty much all of his CDs, I was a bit disappointed. The term 'background music for late night listening'sums it up pretty well I reckon.
