I've always looked at Apple products with a bit of skepticism, mainly because I never saw a justification for the price that the company's products are sold at. However, I had my eye on iPad mini ever since it was launched because it seemed to be a perfect way to get acquainted with Apple. Saw a great deal whilst on a business trip to Malaysia and couldn't resist picking one up. In short - I'm not disappointed.
I've used the iPad for a number of things, including stacking digital magazines that I can read anytime, anywhere. It's also a perfect way to reduce the number of files/papers that you need to carry. Simply convert them to digital format and use your iPad to access them all in one place. Boom! I've also used this little joy to keep up to date with all kinds of news, and play games while on the go. I understand that any tablet can perform the same functions, but the smoothness with which the iPad operates makes it a cut above the rest. I've compared it to other tablets and found it much easier to use, and much more fun to play with. Although I'm not a huge fan of taking pictures with tablets, I found the camera to be quite decent as well. It's a portable computer, really. A lot easier than carrying a laptop or netbook as it performs all the required functions - spreadsheets, workbooks, presentations, word processing, etc. As far as weight is concerned, it is extremely light. The screen size is great for all types of uses as well. Might I add that you can use the iPad to remotely access your PC at home from anywhere in the world!?
The only thing that I didn't find too impressive was the app store, but that doesn't have anything to do with the device as it is a company issue. I find that the app store is simply hyped up. The Android app store is just as good, if not better. But all in all, iPad mini is worth a shot.
