Gotta love it!,
This review is from: Steve Coogan Live - As Alan Partridge And Other Less Successful Characters [DVD] (DVD)
This DVD seems to have got some bad reviews.
Personally I don't see why. If you were lucky enough to see this show live then I would highly recommend buying it as there's plenty of bits i'd forgotten about.
If you didn't see the show then would still recommend it as it's more classic Coogan.
The show doesn't tske itself too seriously & comes across as a light hearted almost theatrical overview of his much loved characters.
I thouroughly enjoyed it & it brought back memories of the live show :-)
Yes there is nothing technically new in this show but well worth a purchase especially when it's on special offer.
I think other reviewers have been over critical. It's fun, light hearted & will make ya laugh. Especially his little song at the end....(you know the one) Nice one Mr Coogan keep up the good work :-)

Recently Sky Atlantic ran 'Steve Coogan: Stand Up Down Under' which dealt with the Australian leg of the same tour. Why they'd sat on this for four years bugged me, but it was conveniently screened to tie in with the release of Alpha Papa and then Philomena.
The programme made me laugh and cry in equal measure, at Steve's dislike of the scummy bathrooms in the hotels, and the radio station whose jocks had 'Alan' apply for a job. I also wanted to see all of the Spicks & Specks episode he was on! I was also sad that he felt that he didn't want to play live anymore as a result, but people get older and don't always need what they wanted when they were younger.
Oh, by the way, THAT song caused a little fracas. An Australian fan got a rollocking from the police as they thought he was singing it about them!
