Gigabyte motherboard SKT-AM3+ 970A-DS3 FX 3.1,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Gigabyte SKT-AM3+ 970A-DS3 FX Motherboard (Accessory)
The product is good value for money, and is reasonably feature rich, HOWEVER, there is an inherant problem with the USB3 drivers. Using Vista, Windows 7, or even Windows 8 it will be impossible to shut down the system when the USB drivers are loaded. There is a simple fix. In the BIOS disable power wake up on USB3 ( the standard is enable )

David Glasgow says:
is this a problem with any other 970 boards, anyways just for a full AMD ATX MotherBoard I can live with a minor change in the Bios, paired with a Phenom II 965 3.4Ghz here on Amazon for £74.00 or should I go for the FX-6200 (Which gets the best benchmark results...) £30 pounds more..
Just I tried the bulldozer when it 1st came out and wasn't impressed too much, however the prices have came down since my purchase, so taking a risk on the new architecture on the FX-6200 may be no-brainier.. its the black edition FX-6200 6x core 3.8Ghz without looking at the ad.
and say can be easily OC'd to 4.5Ghz perhaps may not ever touch it, because it has a massive Cache, and turbo cores, which should bring it into the 4Ghz region, auto OC. without doing anything, I usually buy Intel, but have just started building ATX AMD PCs, and if you have a look around you can pick up motherboards, decent ones for small money, just like this one..
I would only go 990FXA OR FX ON THE FX-6200 OR NEW FX-8350 Overclocker.co.uk have them, oh! please correct me if I got any of the figures wrong..
I just also feel the best value for money is the "New Trinity Quad core with GPU A10 5800K" - "HD7660D" £95.00 Whatz your opinion on that.? Gigabyte F2A75M-D3H Motherboard (SKT-FM2) only £65.00 here on Amazon with 3D Bios.
AMD HDZ965FBGMBOX Phenom II X4 965 - 3.4 Ghz AM3 Black Edition CPU, Retail Packaged £74.00
Gigabyte F2A75M-D3H Motherboard (SKT-FM2)
AMD A10 5800K Black Edition CPU (3.8GHZ, 4MB Cache, 4 Core, HD7660D, Socket FM2, 100W, Retail Boxed) only £95
AMD FX 6200 Processor - 3.8GHz, SKT AM3+, 14MB, 125W, PIB only £104.45
if anyone else, has something to suggest, please go ahead, I'm open to new ideas, and positive suggestions.. Thanks peeps!
oh! here's a decent review on the NEW Piledriver: FX8350 copy & Paste: http://www.pcgamer.com/review/amd-fx-8350
and here is an impartial review on the new FX-6200 http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Processors/A
Again normally I would have always gone for the intel i5 2500K for Gaming, any other PC for any other purpose than gaming I would now definitely consider going AMD due to the decent price for (CPU/GPU) or CPU but one of the reviews I have read has given the green light to "A10 5800K Trinity" for gaming as well. @ £95 (only)
And certainly would now always consider the NEW FX8350 for everything because of the brute power, its NOT quite as powerful as the intel 3770K but nowhere near the price, and has some great features in Pile-driver.. compared to the older Bulldozer. So thats another project I would consider in the new year. (after Xmas).. please read review which is impartial, an non biased..
