Great Stuff! Now What About The Art Of Noise's China Output!!!
, 2 Sept. 2007
This review is from: And What Have You Done With My Body, God? (Audio CD)
This ZTT 4 CD set is full of all the trimmings with all the rare stuff that I bought on vinyl all those years ago, and the price is well justified with documented booklet too. Pleasant stuff, but what would be pleasant still if the Art Of Noise's China Records entire output was released in the same way.
To those who own the ZTT Value Of Entertainment Video, The Art Of Noise's departure is evident as Anne Dudley, JJ Jeczalik, and Gary Langan signed for China Records in July 1985, and their first single, "Legs", was released in October 1985 with two versions, Inside Leg, and Last Leg as well as the 7" version. "Peter Gunn", followed in March 1986 again two versions, Long Version, and The Twang, and 7" versions, Paranoimia, released in July 1986, Long version, and the rare Paranoid version were available as was the 7". "Legacy", a redoing of the Art Of Noise's earlier track, "Legs", rounded of a perfect year when it was released in October 1986.
The Art Of Noise's China output is rumoured to include Live recordings from their Hammersmith Odeon gig, the theme from, "The Krypton Factor", and a myriad of classics between 1985, and 1990 when the Art Of Noise decided to call it a day.
Having said all that, the ZTT CD set is a perfect introduction to one of the most innovative electronic bands of the 1980's.
