2.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE: NOT the trilogy, only first two movies, 9 Feb. 2014
By
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Riddick Collection [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Of all the Blu-Rays I have ever bought, this must be the worst rip-off ever. Everything about this box screams trilogy: it is the Riddick COLLECTION, there are THREE MOVIES LISTED AT THE BOTTOM of the box, each corresponding with the names of the three Riddick movies, And then we have the reviews, where the reviews link to the TRILOGY on DVD ...

Well, before anyone else is sorely disappointed, this bundle only contains the first two movies and some lousy DVD. Given the omission of the last movie, this collection is even very expensive. You can easily buy the first and second movie and save a pound or two while doing so. Overall, keep away from this collection ...

"Everything about this box screams trilogy"

... unless you look at the box art, or bother to read the description of the contents. Basically, you're disappointed because you did neither. You ought to rate yourself 2/5, not the product.

Serves you right, do a bit of research next time.

Don't worry varuni, you're not the only one to make that mistake. Given that the last film was called Riddick (bottom right on the box art) I had assumed this was the trilogy proper. Had no idea there was a cartoon film. If you wanted to design a boxset to catch people out, I don't think you could improve on this one. Fortunately I read the reviews before ordering ;-)

Except it doesnt just say riddick at the bottom right, it says chronicles of riddick :P nothing here to catch people out just people not reading it correctly and also not knowing there is 3 live action films but four installment of riddick with the cartoon film

True. But unless you zoom the picture you can't make it out. (Well, my eyes can't anyway). True again, the clues are there for anyone bothering to do more than a minutes research. But the boxset is rather pointless. It's like releasing a Back to the Future "Collection" with only the first two films. Or as a direct comparison, a Matrix boxset with only the first two films and The Animatrix. And then calling it "The 3-film Matrix Collection"!

Read the above. You can see at least another two have got confused...

Except the huge header to the product which lists the contents (which is more than some other sets offer). Sorry, self inflicted wounds for the 2 people who messed up and are looking for someone to blame.

Did people really think you would get the brand new Riddick movie that hadn't even been released on Blu-Ray at the time included as part of this budget collection???

The Riddick Collection - release date 23 Dec 2013
Riddick (2013) - Blu-Ray release date 13 Jan 2014

Until a 4 movie collection is released, buying both of these together is a great way to get all things Riddick
