Message to the author: PLEASE scrap 2-4 and rewrite these sequels - 1 was so good!,
This review is from: When You Were Young (Children of Eternity #4) (Kindle Edition)
I give this 2 stars because half of it interested it. I can't give it more, because it didn't go anywhere. Once again, I loved book 1. I only read this far because I really wanted to know what the deal was with Samantha and the Reverend. I thought maybe book 4 will suddenly be really good and I can just pretend books 2 and 3 never happened.
Sadly, the resolution to the mystery was very anticlimactic. Samantha and the island people didn't actually have any connection at all, when you got down to it. They just accidentally ran into each other. To me, there's nothing clever or interesting about that. That's not a story. It's just a chain of events.
Also, once again, how many times are we going to read the words 'fat pig'? Honestly. I don't recommend this series at all. And it's with great regret that I say that, because of how much I enjoyed the first installment. Seriously, I feel like begging the author to re-think this whole story, write off books 3-4, and start again with book 2. Because book 1 has so much potential...and that just heightened my disappointment.
