This review is from: Waterproof Black Metal Cat Scarers Set of 3 Cat Deterrent.
Having tried so many things at great expense to us and not to the owners of the blooming cats, we decided to give these a go as probably a last resort. Placed them in various positions in the front garden, which is where we have the problem, not the back thank goodness and they looked so realistic that one of our neighbours opposite rang me in panic saying "you've got three cats in your garden" knowing what a problem we have. We had a good laugh about that and I thought this might just work. It was bad enough having them dumping on the flower beds, but when they started on the pebbles too, which we've got instead of lawn, it got beyond a joke as to have to watch every step you take, on your own property, is beyond a joke. Well, it did work for a week and even I kind of jumped when I went out into the front because they look realistic, but now they are back again on flower beds and pebbles. My husband says we should move them to other places because the cats are probably wondering why they are always in the same place and have got wise to them. We've had elephant and rhino poo down which is ok until it rains (which is a lot) and we purchased some barbed wire rings which are all over the flower beds too, but the cats have actually dumped on the barbed wire and this morning the barbed wire has been slung off the flower beds onto the pebbles. I'm at a loss, but am sick to death of people with these animals which cost us so much money in deterrents which don't work and plants which they dump on and kill. They only visit during the night so we've no chance of spotting them with water pistols and other gadgets which people rely on. And why should I wait for someone else's cat when I'm busy and the owners are out doing whatever they do !!!
Years ago, my parents had major problems with just one cat, and my father caught it by the tail and rubbed an onion on it's backside. The cat was not injured but it was heard on it's way over the fence making a high pitched wail. It was never seen again in their garden and if anyone thinks that was cruel my father grew lovely vegetables which were constantly messed on and were unable to be eaten and he had reached the end of his tether. Anyway, cat not injured, probably only pride and nice vegetables again. Result.
Incidentally I am a cat lover, but not the ones which mess in our garden.
