This review is from: Matthew, the Hebrew Gospel (Volume II, Matthew 9-17) Large Print Edition (Paperback)I was disappointed when I read this book. The commentary was a standard explanation of the text in no great depth. OK for those who knew nothing of Matthew's Gospel but too basic for those who have any knowledge of its Jewish references. He does translate a few of the Jewish words, but overall there is little to justify the title of "The Hebrew Gospel". There are plenty of other books which explore the Jewishness of the gospel as well as of Jesus that are far more insightful. Why in large print? It makes for an expensive commentary if you have to collect what looks like four books for the whole gospel.
