I have been enjoying the Mary O Reilly series, though I had begun to notice that the main characters were beginning to be a little too nice that it was bordering on sickly.
There was a point in this series - I'm not sure if it was book two or three - where the main character, Mary could have developed into a smart, tough but also sensitive human being with a good sense of humor - a likeable character. But around the time of her disclosure that she was still a virgin, along with the Mills and Boons type dialogue between her and Bradley, she began to get irritating but it was possible to over look most of the slushy bits and still enjoy the read. Not so with this installment, where each of the main characters have become so nice and righteous that I could happily slap any one of them. I tried to persevere but only managed to get a fifth of the way through. I had to stop before everybody in it started giving each other congratulatory high-fives for being such nice folks.
It's a shame but I don't think I'll be chancing buying another one in the series.
