Looking online, I'm not the only one with this issue. I bought four chromebooks for family members, but one of them just stopped working properly. The key-presses produce nonsense or don't have a character at all.
I was a real chromebook convert after the first one, but no more. I bought these to free me from the issue caused by laptops amongst a not very technical extended family. I tend to be their personal IT support line. But I guess becuse they need so little support, when they do go wrong, its impossible to get support.
Its not simple to get it fixed either. You have to try all sorts of shenanigans yourself if you want to fix it, like reinstalling the operating system via USB which took 3 hours. THREE HOURS! and then didn't work.
Samsung doesn't even list this model on the support section of their site - and Amazon simply wash their hands of it once they've sold it to you. I will keep trying.
Very disappointed. Be prepared for a 25% failure rate if you buy, as that's my experience.
