The Daughter of Time?,
This review is from: The Wench is Dead (Paperback)
A reworking of Josephine Tey's classic THE DAUGHTER OF TIME. Morse's love of crosswords pays off, and his research into documents is mildly interesting. Solution is undistinguished, and not entirely unexpected. There is too much emphasis on Morse's sexual fantasies and bodily functions; the characters in the plot do not come to life, and are less than jig-saw pieces; and the book never escapes the shadow of Josephine Tey.
