Wonderful opening chapters but this book runs out of ideas well before the end,
This review is from: The Goldfinch (Kindle Edition)
The Goldfinch's opening chapters hold rich promise, the trauma suffered by a young boy enjoying a day out with his mother brutally and brilliantly described.
Sadly, Tartt's story never develops beyond the predictable and well before the not particularly exciting or interestng conclusion I was reading this Christmas gift more from a sense of duty than pleasure.
