Essential for your trip,
This review is from: Buying a House in Italy (Paperback)
Don’t even think of leaving home without it. Buying A House In Italy is an essential item in your luggage for your trip to Italy.
Why did we want a copy of a book published in 2008 before the recession? Because it is incredibly helpful and still applies! Yes, the economy has changed in Italy and elsewhere since 2008 but the basic procedures, precautions, etc. of the buying process remain the same. So too does all the information on the different parts of Italy, lifestyle, types of properties, renting, etc. Current price information is something that would have to be checked anyway as even a recent edition would contain information that slightly lags the actual market. Otherwise this book is as valuable as ever and is a source of constant reference.
Indeed the contents of the book are even more important and relevant now. The recession has caused cash-strapped authorities at all levels to ramp up taxes and impose new fines for any irregularities. Having this book enables one to avoid such traps, apart from other possible pitfalls in the buying process.
I cannot emphasise enough how valuable this book is to help avoid problems for anyone considering buying in Italy. We are grateful that Mr. Neale has been so thorough. Although we consulted several books and online sources this book is the only source that covers everything.
