5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Chic! Slightly different track listing to previous (orange sleeve) Up All Night, 29 Oct 2013
This review is from: Nile Rogers Presents The Chic Organization: Up All Night: The Greatest Hits (Disco Edition) (Audio CD)
Fabulous music from Nile Rodgers and his Chic organisation. This album gives you the best of Chic along with many other tracks that Nile has worked his magic on with other artists, writing the track and producing it as an active guitar playing producer during the studio.

The original version of this Up All Night Greatest Hits compilation (the orange sleeve) only came out earlier in 2013 following Nile's success with Daft Punk's Get Lucky which sadly isn't included. This version (Red Sleeve, 'Disco edition') is out in time for Christmas, and just changes 5 of the tracks, the other 20 are the same.

IN comes: Like A Virgin (Madonna), Frankie (Sister Sledge), The Reflex (Duran Duran), Chic minimix (Megamix) and a fabulous live medley recorded at Glastonbury 2013 (which actually would be better if it was a DVD). If you want these buy the RED one.

OUT goes: Got To Love Somebody (Sister Sledge), Backfired (Debbie Harry), Soup For One (Chic), High Society (Norma Jean Wright), Reach Your Peak (Sister Sledge). If you want these buy the ORANGE one.

I vote red!

Thanks for the In/Out synopsis - very helpful, rather than going through the hassle of side by side comparison, as I was doing before deciding which one to buy. What I need now is a third version that includes them all! :)

Personally I would have preferred a three disc album with all the tracks included as I don't like it when albums get re-issued with different tracks. Its a bit of a rip off. I bought the orange cover as the red one didn't exist then, although I would have struggled to choose if I would have had the choice. Can you really buy enough Chic albums, probably not, so it is only a matter of time before I purchase the red one. However, I liked your review, you pay your money and take your choice.
