This review is from: The Fly-Tying Bible (Spiral-bound)
If you are new to fly-tying, and want to learn quickly, I can't think of a better book than this. It is a great intoduction to the art/skill of tying flys, and yet remains very firmly based on the practical. It lists the simple (but essential) equipment you will need - not expensive - plus the raw materials. Perhaps it's greatest strenght is that not only does it show exactly, and in detail, how to tye each fly, the book is designed with a ring binder that allows the novice to simply place to book on the work suface and start in ernest - and as each fly is shown in just two pages there is no messing about trying to find your place.
The best recommendation I can give is that it took me from absolute beginner to someone who can now tye a complete range of flies - perhaps not to an excellent standard, although I am improving, but certainly well enough to catch some well reasonable fish.
