This review is from: Historical War Game Samurai Battles - Commands & Colors And Art Of Tactic - 6413 (Toy)
This is the sort of toy I used to love getting as a kid, shed-loads of figures, and rules, and dice and stuff in general. The hard plastic figures take a while to glue together (I would not advise just clipping them together) but it is the sort of hobby job that divided up over a few evenings will keep kids busy. Once assembled (keep them in another box to prevent crushing) you get two games Command & Colors and Art of Tactic. I have only played the first of these and it alone underpinned the value of the game. The Command & Colors system has moved from the magic of Battlelore and Westeros to the battle lines of Battlecry; its visit to feudal Japan is as effective as ever with enough rules that are the same to assist play starting and enough rules that are different to give you a feel that you are in Japan, not (say) Napoleonic Russia.
