Frees up all of my content onto the big screen,
This review is from: HTC Media Link HD Wireless HDMI Adapter with UK Mains Plug - Black (Accessory)
I am reasonably competent and had this unit up and running (i.e., detected and connected) to my HTC One even without a TV screen. To me this promised much. Once connected via HDMI, the media unit showed off my photos with no lag and using HTC Watch, a HD movie truly was very high quality, HD even, allowing me to use other programs on the phone itself. For other android programs, this is not the case, the media link just mirrors what is on your HTC phone screen. I'd like to see more apps that use the HTC API to allow mutli-tasking between phone screen and the big screen.
I have a lot of educational videos that I need to watch so I just stream them onto the big screen via this adapter using VLC set to high speed playback and it gives me impressive results. It is also portable enough to be taken into the office or hotel room where I can do the same.
But it doesn't stop there, it can also be used as a dnla/upnp playback device allowing me to stream video/audio/images from my non-HTC devices, specifically MacBook and Nexus tablet. So it has versatility even if you don't have a HTC phone. For me this is great and implemented in the right way - not only having great manufacturer specific features (3 finger swipe up/down to connect/disconnect) but also interoperable with other manufacturers through open standards.

Hi I found your review of the HTC media link useful. I have bought one. I have two questions perhaps you can help with.. Firstly the unit in general works well but on a few videos from either YouTube or vevo there is lipsync issues.. Audio and video not in sync. Other videos from those two sires are fine. Secondly I have an android tab can you explain how I might get that to work with the HTC... In some detail please. Many thanks
