This review is from: The Iron Jackal (Tale of the Ketty Jay 3) (Paperback)
It's an adventure book. A Steam Punk book. After the last and more "heavy" Black Lung Captain, I was worried the series would get serious and pretensious. It didn't. Chris Wooding goes on.
It's not only that he shows more of the characters and what makes them what they are, it's also that they evolve and get older, and more mature (or not), as humans do. Altough the crew is the same, with the same problems, they are different, and they grew from previous experiences.
The fast action, the plot twists and the fact that the characters actually grow and change with the story, makes an addictive reading. Make no mistake, this is an adventure series, but a great one.
