This review is from: DRIV3R (PS2) (Video Game)
This game is no where near as bad as people are making it out to be, infact it is a very playable game at times, with many flaw, but also many good points about it.
Yes it's true that reflections havent fixed the problems with the old game, pedestrians walking through walls, the "road caving" problem (where the road caves in and you suddenly fall from the sky), and a few others but they have made them less consistent.
Also when i found out that Driver 3 would have guns i was delighted, but i automatically assumed that there would be an auto aiming system (there actually is on the game, but it is usually switched off and doesn't make a blind bit of difference) so as you can imagine doing missions that need quick spanny shooting is nearly impossible.
But there are some good points as well, the cars look, handle and sound beautiful, the driving part of the game is at it's usual high standard and its one of the only things that reflections have improved. The police chases are intense and so are the driving missions.
Of course there lots of things to do in free ride as well, you can just ride around the city exploring, like in the old games, you can have a gun battle with police, but there are extra things to do, there are 3 secret cars on each level, the addition of boat to the series means you can set sail onto the waters of miami, nice and istanbul, but the most entertaining thingt is looking for the 10 timmy vermicelli's (sound familiar) on each level, they hide in area's around the city (and are heavly armed) and the most amusing thing is the desingers put armbands on his arms (laughing at the fact that you can't swim on grand theft auto and you can on driver)
Only buy this game if you have played it and you are sure you'll like it if not then its a rather big gamble
