This review is from: Once Bitten, Forever Burned (Kindle Edition)This is a pretty short antho, as it contains only two tales which are connected by the male leads, who are best friends and brothers-in-arms.
In the EL tale, we meet vet Bethany, who lost her true love, Devon, ten years ago. Since then, her life has changed for the worse (NB: whilst there are no graphic details, she's been raped and worse). One night, Devon comes back into her life, as a vampire, and whilst she's incredulous and overjoyed to see him, she's changed too, and 'belongs' to another...This was a sweet, sexy and hot tale of lovers reunited, of a guy who fights for his woman, of a baddie who gets his just desserts, and of a female who gets to kick a**, and best of all, it ends in a HEA that I could believe in. 4.5*.
In the SK tale, Cruz, best friend of Devon, who met the same fate as the latter, meets a werewolf, who he is forbidden to love, and whose father thinks that it is time to arrange a mating for her. Again, a decent tale, but nowhere near as professionally written as the EL one, as this contained typos, sometimes corny, yet at other times stilted/non-flowing dialogue, silly mistakes that distracted from the tale itself (apparently both Cruz and Kiara have female sex organs!, and the use of 'sedated' instead of 'sated'). It did kind of redeem itself due its pretty steamy sex scenes. 2.5*
