Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ployer Momo8 IPS Tablet PC - 8 Inch Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean), IPS SCREEN; BLUETOOTH; WIFI; ROCKCHIP RK3066 DUAL CORE - 2 X CORTEX A9; QUAD GPU - IPS 1024 x 768 Capacitive 5 Point Touch Screen, 16GB Storage, 1GB DDR3 Memory, Ultra Thin 8.9mm design with Metal Rear - HDMI & 3D Output - New Google Play Installed - 1.3MP Front Facing Camera - Flash 11.1 Pre-Installed - All iPlayers and Flash Content Compatible (Personal Computers)
I got my Ployer 8 Momo 8 IPS from GTR Electronics, it is my first Android tablet, although I've had several Android phones (2.2 to 4.0.4) over the last couple of years and have created my own Android builds for one of my phones. I'm very impressed with the Ployer Momo 8 IPS.They tablet is very responsive and I would consider myself a demanding Android user, but flipping between apps is very quick with no hint of lag or stutter. It plays HD video via my DLNA server over Wifi and the IPS screen is great. I connected to two Wifi networks without issue, signal levels were comparable to other devices I use. Bluetooth works. It is a pure Android experience, no OEM skins, which I am all in favour of. It looks premium and build quality is high (aluminium back), even the packaging has a quality feel and includes headphones (untested), UK power adapter, screen cloth and two USB cables/adapters. I let my team of software developers have a play with the Ployer yesterday, some already have the Nexus 7. They were suitably impressed with the Ployer and I think a few of them will be placing orders too. That tablet will be used by the whole family so I've installed a good selection of apps including Skype, Facebook, Friendcaster Pro, Google+, Chrome, Firefox, K9-Mail, Kaiten Mail, Accuweather, Swift Key 3 Tablet, eBay, Paypal, E-ON, Tesco, Argos, Google Play Video, Google Play Books, Google Play Music (side-loaded since not available in the UK yet), Amazon Appstore, Amazon Kindle, Amazon MP3 store, plus many others including media players and various games. They are all installed in the 1GB data partition. All are compatible with the Ployer with the exception of: * Sainsbury's * Nectar * Amazon Mobile I backed up the .APKs for the above apps from my phone (which runs ICS) and side-loaded them on the Ployer. Once side-loaded they all work correctly. However, the Amazon and Sainsbury's websites are very usable on the Ployer making these apps somewhat redundant on a tablet. The new BBC Media Player needs refining (not a Ployer issue) but I've read that the BBC will soon release a new flash-less version of the original iPlayer app. TVCatchup mobile website works great in Chrome, but the app is buggy (not a Ployer issue). I charged the Ployer all day, I used it for 5h 34mins to install the apps and configure everything. Then I did some on-line shopping, watched some streaming videos, read my email and news feeds. Wifi was on the whole time and screen brightness was 50%. After that the Ployer had 21% battery remaining, at which point I suspended it. After 8 hours in suspend the battery was down to 5% when I woke it up. I have also managed to root the Ployer and have Titanium backup working. For the price, I really can't fault the Ployer Momo 8 IPS as the specs are generous. But if I were to get really picky I would have preferred that it could be charged via USB and not the separate cable/adapter, I did know this prior to purchase however. The battery life is very good when the device is in use, but the rate that it eats power when suspended is a bit poor. Overall I'm extremely happy with the Ployer Momo 8 IPS and will definitely buy a Ployer tablet in the future. I am looking forward to Ployer Momo 11 Speed release later this year, which I intend to replace my ageing laptop at home. Comments

Nice review - I received my Momo8 IPS yesterday and am suitably impressed! I've been looking into rooting the tablet but can't find much info on the internet. Could you let me know what software you used and any drivers that you installed etc - generally point me in the right direction!!
