A good start for a beginner, but could include more ..,
This review is from: Buying a Computer For Dummies (Paperback)I recommend this book if you are a beginner. But anyone who wants to learn PC hardware in more detail will have to get another book after this. Part 1 and 2 were okay , even though there could have been more in-depth material (such as more info on memory and disks including the latest technologies and more variations). Also, some material was missing - what about motherboards, cases, cooling/fans, power etc? Hence you cannot choose your own components 100% since you will be missing some important hardware for the PC.
Part 3 I simply read through very quickly - was very boring and a lot of it was unneeded.
The jokes, I found very irritating and there was some repitition.
To sum it all, get the book if you do not understand the basics of PCs and then go on to reading a more advanced one.
