Rawhide A nostalgic ride back in time.,
This review is from: Rawhide - The Complete Series One [DVD] (DVD)This was first shown in 1959 but the series was shown right through until 1966. This whole series is fantastic for anyone who liked Rawhide, or any of the television westerns. It is a nostalgic ride back in time and I loved it. I don't even think it is dated,I would highly recommend it.Makes me a bit sad to watch it, thinking about sitting as a family with my mum and dad, days long gone.It is black and white but anyone who grew up with black and white this is not a problem. It is a good quality recording and I would buy the second series also. I would give it 10 out of 10.

Hello WoodlandMyth , i too remember sitting in front of our old b and w telly watching Rawhide. What a great series it was. Sad that Eric Fleming who played trailboss Gil Favor drowned while on holiday with his family. But the release of these d.v.d's is a fitting tribute to him and all the other great actors in the series.

After he left Rawhide, Eric Fleming appeared in colour on Bonanza in 1965 and 1966.

Eric Fleming did not drown whilst on holiday. He was filming high Jungle when his canoe overturned and he tragically was swept to his death.

Hello there, have only just seen these replies to my review. Sadly Eric Fleming died just two days before he was due to get married. So sad.
