2.0 out of 5 stars Tedious, 19 Feb. 2014
This review is from: You Can Beat Your Brain: How to Turn Your Enemies Into Friends, How to Make Better Decisions, and Other Ways to Be Less Dumb: Volume 1 (Paperback)
The book seeks to explain some of the interesting nuances of our thought process and how we often delude and trick ourselves.

The ideas aren't rubbish, McCraney is just a crap writer. Long winded, repetitive and tedious explanations make me feel robbed; robbed of the time that could have been spent reading something enjoyable.

I have to agree that McCraney can be quite long winded. But he's not a crap writer. He has so far been the best person I have read to explain and make many psychological concepts funny to learn and easy to understand. A little long-windedness is a cheap trade off.

I do respect and understand your opinion, I hate plabber-mouths myself. But you do other potential readers a disservice to say McCraney is a crap writer, when he is in fact a long-winded writer.
