This review is from: An Introduction to Counselling (Paperback)
Beginning an introductory course at college, I needed an introductory text explaining what are actually simple conceptual matters such as what is the 'Object' on Objections Relations and what distinguishes Psychodynamic therapies from old style Psychoanalysis. McLeod's interesting, comprehensive text is a good introduction, helping you to dive into the depths of Klein, Bion, Rogers, whichever. It is a good read as well as a useful primer, recommended as a fair-minded account where there has been much acrimony in the past. Well worth buying and if it leads you to the fuller, reliable and congenial general accounts by the likes of Stephen Frosh and Anthony Elliott, so much the better.
