Horrifying in all the wrong ways,
This review is from: Grave Encounters 2 [DVD] (DVD)
The first Grave Encounters was one of the better 'found footage' attempts so I thought this might have a chance at being a half decent horror movie. Oh no. Put bluntly, it's dreadful. The first half hour is as boring as it is irritating; filled with halfwitted stabs at being self-referential it merely succeeds at being infuriatingly smug and dull.
When it finally decides to try being a horror movie the spooks are bigger but somehow less scary than the original. This soon degenerates into farce anyhow when it emerges that the ghost has a 'plan'. The final segment is just ludicrous with the characters, all of whom I was fervently hoping would be killed off, behaving in ways that are plain stupid even by bad horror movie standards. Releasing a video of yourself murdering someone as a movie? Yup.
Avoid this at all costs. I really can't do justice to how bad it is.

I feel they need to stop relying on the fact that the first movies trailer got over 20 million views on YouTube, so what, that was the first movie's trailer not this movie's one. The views don't mean that the movie's good I mean Shark Attack 3 got 30 million views and that's terrible. I haven't seen this sequel yet but by the looks of the trailer it seems like it just relies on the first ones success to sell tickets instead of actually being a good movie, I may be wrong however but we shall see.
